| У статті розглядається один з ключових аспектів актуальної для українського суспільства проблеми формування єдиної національної ідентичності при проведенні мовної політики тотальної українізації. Основними цілями статті є а) вивчення можливості соціально-політичного конструювання в Україні єдиної національної ідентичності; б) розгляд співвідношення національної ідентичності до особистісної ідентичності людини і роль мови та її дискурсивних і наративних практик для людини. Розглянуто існуючі підходи до дослідження нації та національної ідентичності, вивчено вплив на формування української національної ідентичності, її етнічної складової. Показана роль мови, її мовних і наративних практик в процесах конструювання індивідуальної ідентичності як базової характеристики ідентичності людини, вивчено співвідношення особистісної та національної ідентифікації у формуванні ідентичності людини. Показано, що можливості конструювання єдиної національної ідентичності при сформованому стані речей представляються маловірогідними. | The article discusses one of the key aspects of the urgent problem for the Ukrainian society in the formation of a single national identity when the ruling political elite pursues a language policy of total Ukrainization. The main objectives of the article are a) exploring the possibility of social and political construction in Ukraine of a single national identity; b) consideration of the relationship of national identity to a person’s personal identity and the role in it of the language and its discursive and narrative practices. Existing approaches to the nation and national identity are considered – primordial, modernist and constructivist approaches, special attention is paid to the consideration of national identity as a discursive formation and nation as a national mobilizing symbol.The article reveals the study of the influence on the formation of the Ukrainian national identity of the ethnic component, which made it possible to argue that modern Ukrainian politics is guided by the ethno-national model of national construction. To study the possibility of constructing a unified national identity, the role of language, its speech and narrative practices in the processes of constructing an individual identity as a basic characteristic of a person’s identity is shown, a possible spectrum and mechanism of action of human identifications is shown. The core of personal identity is self-understanding, especially manifested in existential or critical situations for a person – natural disasters, persecution, repression, arbitrariness, disease, war, acute civil conflict, and in this sense, national identity occupies one of the places in personal identity, occasionally claiming dominant role. The role of dialogueism, discursive and narrative practices for human self-understanding is shown, which suggests the primacy of personal identity over national, and even more ethno-national.As the conclusions of the article, it is argued that the division of the Ukrainian people into a national majority and a national minority according to the linguistic principle, in which the Western Ukrainian ethnic group, speaking exclusively Ukrainian, and being an absolute minority, was chosen as a model of the titular nation, is a dead end for the development of the Ukrainian state. It leads to a further split in society, extremely exacerbating the already existing linguistic conflict. The identity policy pursued by the Ukrainian political elite rather imitates than really expresses the classic modernist principle of monolithic and unity of the political nation. In many ways, the long-term strategy of the Ukrainian identity policy is consonant with Estonian and Latvian national policies, the so-called «ethnic» democracy, dividing the population according to national and linguistic principles into citizens and non-citizens.Based on the study of the indicated problem, the author concludes that the possibilities of constructing a single national identity in the current state of affairs seem ephemeral.As a prospect for further research, it is necessary to predict the risks of acute interethnic conflicts on language damage and to describe the boundary conditions of language policy in the current situation of bilingualism. The problem of studying negative identity as a mass phenomenon of Ukrainian society deserves special consideration. |
